There is a saying that, “When you educate a man, you only educate a man. But when you educate a woman, you educate a generation”. “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” in the social awareness campaign make the parents to celebrate the birth of a baby girl instead of getting unhappy.
Hundreds of years have witnessed Indian families not rejoicing on the birth of a girl child not only in rural areas but also in educated urban circles. On the top of it, the orthodox families go for  female infanticide or abandoning the  child.  If at all she born social and family constraints did not allow the girls to go  school or to opt for higher studies.

The scheme  launched with an initial funding of Rs.100 Crores by the Government of India. It was launched on 22 January 2015 in Panipat (Haryana) as the state had very poor Child Sex Ratio (CSR). Initially, the scheme launched in 100 districts across the country.  Out of them 12 were from Haryana. With an effort to make transitions in the mere mindset of the Indians towards the female society. This campaign focused mainly on Women Empowerment and girl child rights. India has a sex ratio of 943 women per 1000 men. These horrifying statistics have now become a huge problem for finding a spouse mainly in regions like Delhi and Haryana.

Achievements:-

• Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)  was started in Panipat in 2015. Now, with such an initiative, the sex ratio has crossed up to 950 females for 1000 males.
• BJP being the running party, we now have many women police officers. From the earlier 6 percent to 8.5 in such a small period.
  The Government is giving utmost priority to the quality of educational infrastructure. Encouraging more  girl children to transform their future and fulfill their dreams.
• Reports suggested the failure of students in class 1 to 10 has now been taken under consideration. Having built a new test system to incorporate a better knowledge about the subjects and thorough understanding.
• Presenting their first version with over 6000 downloads.We now can view the details  BBBP Campaign on the app store which is gaining popularity day  by  day.

Criticisms:-

• BBBP  is much talked about these days. With such huge expectations out of this social campaign, it needs a lot of civic body support for the expansion and execution of the various objectives. BBBP promises to deliver.
• Many social and cultural norms like Sati, Female Feticide, Domestic Violence and Child Marriage make it harder for this campaign to erase such harsh notions from the minds of people.
• The long driven problem stand in the basic mind set of the Indian Society who looks down at their females as inferiors adding no value to the family households. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) still hasn’t visibly worked at this primary problem.
• People need to trust  BBBP  in order to support its practices and objectives. With the migration of BBBP officials and administrators every now and then to various other offices. The followers of the campaign often bond weakly with the new faces and have weak relationships.
• In a world where people are hungry for results. They don’t bother about a number of efforts put on any project. BBBP failed to deliver accurate statistics and how to nurture their plans to  execute in  future.

At the end, we must fill ourselves with the zest of celebrating the birth of a girl child . We all must support the noble initiative BBBP Movement. This Movement has been appreciated worldwide with  small girls. Those who willing to study in schools one day, fix their aspirations and dreams in this campaign. We need a strong and determined BBBP Movement under the leadership of our Prime Minister to balance the sex ratio. And mark the rebirth of the new India.
